Digital Trading Lead

Working with the Head of Digital, this role will manage the performance of all our websites and the trading teams who work on them. Fully responsible for hitting the collective targets for sales, EBIT and all cost lines.

  • Working hours: 40hrs per week
  • Working schedule: Monday to Friday

What You'll Be Doing: 

Planning

  • Working with commercial finance to plan budgets, re-forecasts, and operational improvements.
  • Supporting longer term strategies working with the head of digital.

 

Trading

  • Updates are shared daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly.
  • Report on overall performance to the senior leadership team.
  • Manage the trading performance at market & region level to ensure plans are met.
  • Review and sign-off commercial plans for the markets.
  • Responsible for the overall P&L, including marketing costs and operational cost lines.
  • Drive the digital teams to ensure strong performance across all marketing channels.
  • Understand the fundamentals of all performance channels e.g. Paid media, affiliates, CRM, SEO.
  • Align on market trading plans with retail & marketing to deliver omni-channel execution of activity.
  • Aligning with JD sports where possible on all activity & promotions for wider business understanding.
  • Work with internal analytics teams and 3rd party tools to drive insights for support trade activity.
  • Ability to work within and adapt to an environment which experiences frequent change with an open, flexible, and supportive approach to change and innovation.

Manage

  • Responsible for out of hour contacts & issues to resolve with respective teams.
  • Manage the development of the trading manager & exec and merchandisers with regular catch ups – informal and formal including at least a monthly PDP.
  • Manage the team’s workload and ensure all activities are actioned.
  • Support with relationships with brand partners and third parties.
  • Supporting all projects and being a representative to meetings.
  • Drive regional insight back into buying & merchandising teams.
  • Build key relationships but not limited to content, marketing, operational, & retail teams.

What We're Looking For:

  • Experience managing a business P&L.
  • Confident working with large datasets and reporting tools (e.g. Excel, Power Bi, Google Analytics, etc).
  • Experience leading a trading function.
  • Experience working cross functionally across different department including but not limited to Merchandising, Buying, Operations & Logistics, Content, Finance and Performance Channels.
  • Able to develop and upskill other team members.
  • Strong Commercial awareness.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and good team player.
