Job Description: Visual Merchandising Central Communications & Engagement Assistant

Line Manager: Visual Merchandising Central Communications & Operations Manager

Location: Based in the UK – Bury Head office

Movement Requirement: 5 x Days (Mon – Fri) Bury Head office.  (Retail visits when required)

Role Overview: As a Central Communications & Engagement Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the Central Communications team to deliver clear, efficient, and engaging communication across the UK and Europe. You will assist in the creation and distribution of VM Directives, ensuring they are concise, relevant, and translated appropriately for each region. Your responsibilities will include maintaining the VM calendar for strategic planning, coordinating with departments such as Marketing, 3rd Party Brands, consumables and retail to position Visual Merchandising as the central hub for all related communications. With a focus on innovation and continuous improvement, you will champion new technologies and platforms such as JD Now while promoting a “Forever Forward” mindset to evolve the department and uphold the company’s culture and values.

 

Key Role & Responsibilities:

 

  • Support the Central Communications team in developing clear and efficient communication channels across the UK and Europe.
  • Support in the creation and distribution of VM Directives, ensuring they are relevant, clear, concise, and engaging.
  • Coordinate language translations ensuring the VM Directive goes to the relevant Countries.
  • Create and maintain the VM calendar to ensure a strategic and streamlined approach to all communications.
  • Collaborate with departments such as Marketing and 3rd Party Brands and support the team in coordinating information and ensure clear direction.
  • Work with the Consumables Department on the allocation and distribution of VM-related retail products.
  • Establish new ways of reaching our Teams such as JD Now. 
  • Champion a “Forever Forward” mindset by exploring new technologies, methods, and practices to evolve the department.

  • Actively communicate with your line manager about any training requirements needed for your professional development in your role.

 

Travel and Movements:

  • Visit stores when required to remain aligned with current and future business objectives and strategies. and retail teams. This must be approved by your line Manager.

  • Employ the highest possible interpersonal skills in order to ensure the successful marketing of the department.
