Insight & Research Manager – JD Gyms (Fitness House, Wigan)
Are you a data‑driven storyteller who lives and breathes customer insight?
JD Gyms is looking for an Insight & Research Manager to lead our member insight strategy and shape the future of our digital and physical experience.
This is your chance to own the insight function end‑to‑end, from deep‑dive analytics and segmentation to large‑scale research programmes and Voice of the Member initiatives.
What you’ll do:
- Lead insight delivery from our marketing & membership data warehouse, using advanced SQL.
- Build compelling dashboards and analysis through Looker Studio.
- Unlock insight across our digital estate: app, web, social & behavioural data.
- Create segmentation, personas, journey maps and a consistent VoM framework.
- Design and run research programmes via surveys, usability testing.
- Work closely with Marketing, Operations & IT to embed insight into decision‑making.
- Champion a data‑driven culture across JD Gyms.
What you’ll bring:
- 5+ years’ experience in customer insight for a consumer‑facing brand, ideally across fitness or subscriptions.
- Strong SQL across complex data environments (BigQuery experience a plus).
- Proven track record turning insight into commercial action.
- Deep understanding of digital analytics in GA4, CRM data & dashboarding tools.
- Experience delivering both qualitative AND quantitative research.
- Excellent stakeholder storytelling & communication.
- Confident navigating GDPR and data compliance.
