Security Supervisor

Key Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that all security policies are complied with and enforced across the site in line with the site safety and security culture
  • Ensure staff searches, access control and physical security measures are fully in place and monitored effectively
  • Ensure site is protected against unauthorised access and prevent the appropriation of company assets
  • Operation of high-tech security equipment in line with current policies/procedures
  • Monitoring and analysing CCTV Footage in line with current policies/procedures
  • Maintain an excellent level of professionalism and be always courteous
  • Overseeing management of visitor/contractor/staff processes ensuring all are booked in/out in line with policies/procedures
  • Oversee gatehouse processes ensuring supplier vehicles are booked in/out, and checking all vehicles are security sealed on arrival and departure
  • Complete interviews/investigations along with incident reports and witness statements where required
  • Manage day-to-day tasks within the security team ensuring best practise and consistency
  • Ensure department KPI’s are met and to a suitable standard.   
  • Manage breaches of site security policy
  • Complete any ad hoc tasks as directed by the Security Manager.   
  • Provide continuous training to the team allowing room for development of skills & attributes 
  • Ensure security equipment is checked and in line with current policies/procedures
  • Complete any ad-hoc tasks within the current levels of responsibilities as requested by the Distribution Security Manager and any other reasonable requests in line with the business needs

 

Skills/Experience/Knowledge needed:

 

  • A People, safety, security mindset is essential, along with a ‘can-do’ attitude to motivate and inspire the security team
  • Investigation knowledge along with previous supervisor experience
  • Excellent communication with others both written and oral
  • Willingness to form strong relationships within a team is essential
  • SIA Licensing is advantageous however not essential, as full training is provided
  • Previous security/risk background preferable but not essential
  • Excellent progression opportunities
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft packages such as emails, excel and word
