Role overview:  

Responsible to the Distribution Security Manager to safeguard and maintain professional and effective security within the Head office and Distributuion Centres minimising stock loss. 

Responsibilities:  

Key Duties/Responsibilities:  

 

 

  • To maintain regular, high visibility patrols are conducted within the warehouse areas. 

 

  • To ensure all provided security equipment is in proper use at all times. 

 

  • To conduct regular and thorough staff searches using the guidelines set down by the Profit Protection Director and detailed within the Company Operations Manual. 

 

  • To monitor the accurate checking of all seal numbers on arriving and departing delivery vehicles. 

 

  • To randomly check and properly supervise any night-time closing procedure at Head Office to ensure the building is properly alarmed and all lights extinguished, windows closed etc. when not occupied. 

 

  • To ensure regular car park patrols are carried out to prevent both thefts and unauthorised parking. 
     

  • To ensure an accurate and up to date record is kept of all duties performed by all security officers and reviewed weekly. 

 

  • To ensure fire doors are kept clear of obstructions and properly alarmed. 
     

  • To ensure all fire fighting equipment is maintained and readily available. 
     

  • To attend call-outs as necessary across different sites. 
     

  • To install covert video equipment as directed  

 

  • To review CCTV evidence from stores and Head Office, obtain photographs with the equipment provided and copy tapes as necessary and maintain accurate records. 
     

  • To maintain an accurate key logging system of spare keys required for Head Office and distribution centres 
     

  • To issue replacement keys or access cards when authorised to do so. 
     

  • To ensure any goods/stock leaving Head Office/ Distribution Centre is properly accounted for. 
     

  • To oversee the departure of damaged goods being sold to traders or dealers. 
     

  • To properly supervise all security staff and ensure best practice is adhered to at all times. 
     

  • To randomly check and ensure the accuracy of all goods being returned to suppliers for credit. 
     

  • To randomly check all Parcel force parcels before being despatched from the warehouse. 
     

  • To monitor the training/development of security guards and keep the Distribution Security Manager updated accordingly. 

 

  • To ensure all security guards are subjected to regular and thorough searches in accordance with the Company Operations Manual. 
     

  • To ensure random searches of security guard vehicles are carried out and records of searches filed. 
     
     

  • To make alterations to guarding rotas when appropriate and maintain the required staffing levels in consultation with the Distribution Security Manager. 
     

  • To Cover shifts occasionally at short notice to ensure a supervisory individual is present at all times. 

 

  • To deputise for the distribution security manager in his absence. 

 

  • To complete any ad-hoc tasks within the current levels of responsibilities as requested by the Distribution Security Manager.
